To all the dads and grandpas in our lives, we hope you all had a nice Father's Day! We had a nice day here. First, we dressed Molly in her "I Love Daddy" onesie which lasted about an hour before she took off her bib and spilled apple juice all down the front. Oh well, the sentiment was still there...but in a new clean outfit for the rest of the day. We're so "proud" she's learned how to take off her own bib! It would be easier if that skill could have come much later on...say in another year or two.
We decided to go for a little drive through some neighborhoods nearby and we found a nice little pond, where we sat and enjoyed the afternoon for a while. We watched a man fishing and someone else in a kayak. There were lots of geese and ducks wandering around and the cool breeze felt wonderful on a warm day. It was an hour well spent. Too bad we didn't have the camera with us. Richmond is full of little lost pockets of tranquility like that pond. Who knew it was so nearby?
Later on, we stopped by the store to get a few items for a cookout. We had steaks, baked potatoes, roasted corn on the cob and a nice salad for dinner. Molly and I gave Dan a little gift and a card too. It was a very nice Father's Day for us all.
Here's Molly "helping" Dan open his card. By the way, anytime we mail off greeting cards to any of you and they look wrinkled or beat up...it's because Molly hand delivers them to the mailbox herself. But, they're wrinkled with love!
