Bodie Island Lighthouse

Before leaving for home, we drove southward and came upon this lighthouse. We just had to stop in for a look around. The lighthouse tower was closed for renovations, but we were able to step inside and look upwards to the top. There's just something about a lighthouse, so striking, strong and beautiful with those bold stripes against the soft background of sea and sky.
