Sort of sounds like a Bob Hope, Bing Crosby movie doesn't it?
The other day, we were bored and just driving around town, when we decided to just take Highway 360 east to Tappahannock. It's about 40 miles or so and a nice drive with lots of rolling hill farmland, rivers and creeks to cross over. Just beyond the small town of Tappahannock is a long bridge to one of many Virginia peninsulas and a small town of Warsaw. We crossed the bridge and turned around so we could eat at this little seafood place we'd been told of in Tappahannock called Lowery's.
This place was like stepping back in time to the mid-seventies or something and we definitely felt like the youngest people in there. The food was good, not quite Red Lobster, but the service was friendly and the atmosphere was slow-paced. I could hear lots of Virginia southern / east coast twang in the voices of the country folks around us.
This is a world away from Richmond.

Hi Whitney,
I still don't know if this will work so will make it short. Really liked your trip to Tappahannok. I checked out a lot of the sights, The walking history and the boat trip. Looks like a lot of really neat history things in your area. Hope all is well there.
