Time for Dan to make a post.

Hey everybody lurking in the blog world. I have a day off today and it's way too hot and humid here in Richmond to do anything outside, so I thought I should make a post on the blog.

Here are some pictures from when my family was here for a visit. We went on a few day trips around Richmond. We saw many different things and places.

One day Mom, Dad, Janet and Samantha and I went down to Colonial Williamsburg. The weather was perfect for walking around. It was in the 80's and low humidity. The sun was shining and everything was very green, very different from all the other times I've been there. It had always been cold and rainy.

On another day we went down to Jamestown. Unlike the day at Williamsburg, it was hot and very humid. All of us came to the conclusion that the next time we go to Jamestown, it will have to be in the spring or fall when it's cooler.

This monument was erected for the 300th anniversary of Jamestown. To put that into perspective, last year (2007), they celebrated the 400th anniversary of Jamestown. Jamestown was founded in 1607. (Your history lesson for the day.)
