Getting a haircut.

Getting ready for her haircut.

Sitting still while her hair is combed.

We were very happy she was so patient and good. The stylists were impressed by her calmness too. This went so much better than any of her previous visits to the salon. One time, she cried so loud for so long that I had to apologize to all the other customers who had the misfortune to be there the same time we were...but this time, she was so good...we were very proud and relieved.

We owe her good behavior to an episode of Sesame Street when Baby Bear needed a haircut after a long winter's hibernation. His hair was long and bothersome as he tried to eat and play games. Molly sat, transfixed as she watched this show and realized that haircuts are not painful...except to Mommy as she watches her baby's pretty blond curls drift to the floor...lost forever. Alas...that is another story. But now, Miss Molly is happy to go get her hair cut. Sometimes, she even pretends her fingers are scissors and she gives us haircuts.

Thank you Sesame Street. Thank you.
