Dan is slowly recovering after having gallbladder surgery on Friday morning. A month or so ago, he had a terribly painful gallbladder attack that sent him to the emergency room, and soon after, an ultrasound that showed he was definitely in need for the surgery as soon as possible. It went as well as can be expected, but now he is in a lot of pain and the medication to relieve the pain is making it hard for him to stay awake.
Molly and I are trying to take the best care of him that we can. She has been instructed to not jump on him or hug him for a while. She blows kisses to him instead. He is eating very lightly, mostly just soup and simple food until he's back to normal in a week or two. Luckily he is off work until the 12th, so there is lots of time to heal. Surgery is never a fun experience, but we feel that he is much better off now that the risk of another painful attack is over.
