Baby Registries

I've had a couple friends ask if we have registered for baby items. Well, yes, we have registered at two online sites: Target and Babies R Us. Since neither of us have a clue about what we really need, we are open to suggestions if you see anything missing or useless on our lists. We are not having a baby shower since we just moved to this new place, so we are welcoming any help we can get from anyone out there. It's a daunting task to prepare for a baby when you have no idea of what they need.

Sometimes we walk into the baby section of a store like Target and our jovial shopping conversation comes to a stunned silence as we wander the aisles wondering what all that stuff is, which is best, which is unnecessary and which is a must have. We usually buy a couple things just to whittle away at our baby-needs list and move on to the check out.

Here is some of the stuff we did manage to get so far in the last couple months: stroller, car seat and base, diaper genie II + refill cartridges, crib bedding and decor items, crib and armoire, (changing table is on order), several outfits (pretty ones) and several onesies, sleepers, basic clothes items, hooded bath towel, a few receiving blankets, washcloths, a few socks, a baby bath tub with sling, wipes warmer, 10 bibs, baby monitor, and a few odds and ends like grooming items, thermometer, pacifiers and bathing soap, lotion, and diaper rash cream.

The local Goodwill store is proving to be a lifesaver for our clothing needs. Last week I got an armload of really cute outfits for under $20 total. We're going to start prepping the baby room for painting sometime in the next week or two since the furniture will be here soon. (It's still on order waiting for the third piece.)

Does anyone have any suggestions? We'll take all the advise we can get. Seriously....we're still kind of clueless, but learning day by day.
