The baby bump is still getting bigger and bigger every day! Here we are before we left the house for the day thursday. I keep wondering just how much bigger my belly can possibly get. We still have two more weeks to go until the due date, but she could come along any day now. Babies don't use calendars.
On thursday, we decided to brave the rainy weather and go to Cary Street to check out a few shops and find some out of the way place for a late lunch. The rain was only a light drizzle, not enough to really need an umbrella, although at least one of the 3 I left at home would have been nice.
We walked around Cary Street and had a wonderful lunch at The Cajun Bangkok Cafe where the service was excellent and the food was incredible. After that, we went across the street to a great little shop called For The Love Of Chocolate, full of every kind of candy you can imagine, but they specialized in chocolate. We loaded up on several kinds of candies and coated coffee bean treats...then it was off to a little bakery for a few pastries.
After the food fest, we went for a drive through some upscale neighborhoods and into the downtown areas. The rain made taking photos difficult, but it was nice to get out and enjoy the day despite the weather.
I had another weekly doctor's appointment this morning and all is still normal and on track. My blood pressure was a tiny bit high when it was first taken, but then later on, they retook it and it was normal. The baby's heartrate is a solid 140 bpm and my belly size and weight are on target for this stage in pregnancy. Erin got to come with me and hear the baby's heartbeat which was a special moment for us to share. I'm glad she was here for that. The next appointment is on April 11th.
